Having a bit of free time recently I decided I should download IE8 beta 2 and see whether it was an improvement on the current version. It's not. In fact it's very like Firefox 3 which I haven't really taken to either. However the thing that really worries me is that it breaks some of the sites that I work on professionally. Okay so there's an IE7 compatibility button but I'm not sure that the majority of the people that use the sites I work on will understand what that does.
There's a new kid on the block in the shape of Google Chrome and first impression is that it's kinda cool. In fact I really like it so far. Okay so it's just a browser, looks like the other main players but it's got a nicer interface. It'll be interesting to see how long I stick with it. I suspect that unless I go back to IE7 or unless IE8 gets a lot better then I'll be with Chrome for a while.
